Dolce & Gabbana launches #DGLovesAustralia project

It has been exactly one month since a massive wildfire (open in new tab) in Australia was extinguished. With an estimated 50 million acres (open in new tab) burned, more than 1 billion animals, at least 34 humans killed, and about 6,000 homes and other structures destroyed, the effects of the wildfires are truly devastating. Australia has a long way to go to recover after the tragedy (opens in new tab). Dolce & Gabbana stands in solidarity with Australia and has launched #DGLovesAustralia to support Australia and those affected by the recent devastating fires.

For this project, Dolce&Gabbana will design exclusive T-shirts, the proceeds of which will be donated to the Australian organization Foundation for Rural & Regional Renewal (FRRR). Rural & Regional Renewal (opens in new tab) is a not-for-profit organization "dedicated to improving the lives of people living in rural, regional and remote Australia by harnessing the power of co-investment from government, business and philanthropy," Dolce & Gabbana said in a statement. FRRRR has provided assistance to communities affected by disasters for many years, donating more than $19 million for recovery and preparedness since 2006.

The shirt design depicts the Australian flower, the waratah (opens in new tab), under the slogan #DGLovesAustralia project. The colorful waratah flower represents strength, vitality, and healing and is the perfect symbol for the #DGLovesAustralia Project. The shirts, available for both men and women for $195, can be purchased at world.dolcegabbana.com (opens in new tab) and select Dolce & Gabbana stores.
