Amy Schumer accidentally gives her son a rather explicit name.

Ah, after months of reading baby books, trying name combinations, and finally deciding on the perfect baby name, you realize almost a year later that you've been calling your son "genitals." Amy Schumer and Chris Fisher named their son Gene Attell Fisher, after their friend, comedian Dave Attell, as his middle name. It's a lovely name, but it could easily be twisted into "Genital Fisher" if he gets bullied in the schoolyard in the future, Schumer said on the latest episode of her podcast "Amy Schumer Presents: 3 Girls, 1 Keith" (opens in new tab). She said on the episode.

"Gene, do you guys know that our baby's name has officially been changed 'It's now Jean David Fisher,'" Schumer said, as reported by People (opens in new tab)." It was Jean Attell Fisher, and I realized I had inadvertently named my son 'genitals.'"

Podcast guest and Schumer friend Claudia O'Doherty admitted that her mother was the first to notice the problem. My mother said, 'Amy calls her son "genitals."' And I said, 'What are you talking about? And she was right.'

Fortunately, Gene's new middle name is a tribute to Dave Attell, with an added tribute to Schumer's father, Gordon David Schumer. And speaking of Gordon: Amy and Jean visited his home last month and saw a sign outside his window that said "Hi Grandpa! and hung a sign outside his window that read "Hello, Grandpa! Cute.
