Evelina London Children's Hospital, of which Kate is a patron, published the heartfelt letter on Twitter on Monday.
"I just wanted to write to let you know how much I am thinking of the entire team at Evelina London Children's Hospital during this very difficult time. It is heartening to know that despite these difficult circumstances, Evelina London Children's Hospital is still open for business and continues to provide expert care to sick children." You are truly inspiring and how close you are to this family, as you always have been." [You are now facing the new pressures of caring for adult COVID-19 patients, but the fact that you are all working together and committed to making sure they receive the best possible care is a testament to your support and commitment to them," she continued. Whether you work on the front lines or behind the scenes, you will have to balance these pressures and manage both your professional and personal lives. Please take care of yourselves and each other and know that your entire country is behind you."
Kate became a patron of Evelina London in December 2018. In a press release (opens in new tab), Kensington Palace said, "Her Royal Highness' new patronage of Evelina London is an opportunity to support medical professionals working on the front lines of children's healthcare and to shine a light on their work supporting young children."
Hospital Director Marian Ridley said in a statement, "We are delighted and honored that the Duchess of Cambridge has chosen to become a patron of our hospital. The Duchess of Cambridge shares our hospital's passion for giving children and young people the best possible start in life, and Her Royal Highness' support will help to champion the life-saving care that our staff provide to our patients."
