Mary-Kate Olsen demands an emergency divorce from Olivier Sarkozy.

Mary-Kate Olsen has requested an emergency court order (opens in new tab) to divorce her husband of four years, Olivier Sarkozy, TMZ reported (opens in new tab). According to the site, Olsen first signed the divorce petition on April 17. However, due to the coronavirus outbreak, New York courts are only accepting divorce petitions in emergency cases.

According to TMZ, Sarkozy's lawyer sent an e-mail to Olsen's lawyer demanding that she remove her belongings from their shared New York apartment by May 18. Olsen reportedly said she could not meet that deadline due to New York's stay-at-home requirement and requested that the deadline be extended to May 30, but did not receive a response. She further claims that Sarkozy has terminated her lease without her knowledge and is "trying to get rid of her."

According to documents obtained by TMZ, Olsen sought an emergency court order to protect her belongings because filing for divorce would result in an "automatic court order" preventing him from disposing of her belongings.

Olsen, who married Sarkozy in a private ceremony in November 2015, also requested in her divorce petition that a prenuptial agreement be enforced; TMZ did not report the exact nature of that prenup.
