According to The Knot (opens in new tab), the tradition - a medieval tradition - stipulates that certain materials be given for each year of marriage. For example, wood for the fifth year, tin for the tenth year, crystal for the fifteenth year, and so on. Meghan and Harry are fans of this custom, a source told "People" (opens in new tab), commenting, "They love to arrange the traditional wedding gifts themselves. Last year, Meghan nailed the need for paper: she "wrote up her wedding speech and framed it for him as a gift," the insider said.
