Gaga, an icon and legend, believed she was a bad influence, not a good understanding of Grande! 'She was very persistent. She tried again and again to make friends with me. And I was too embarrassed to go out with her."

Thankfully, Grande persisted. 'Eventually, she called me on my crap. She said, 'You're hiding. I said, 'I'm hiding. I'm hiding. And this friendship blossomed," Gaga said.

Gaga also spoke about addressing her trauma through music, specifically her new single "Free Woman." She said, "My thoughts on life, my thoughts on the world, my thoughts on the industry, the compromises I had to make, the things I had to go through to be where I am today. And I had to put it out there. And when I finally got to celebrate it, I said, 'You know what? If I didn't know what I could do, I wouldn't be nothing. Without men, I am still something, and I am a free woman."

She also spoke about healing and self-acceptance, discussing self-harm and her past belief that she was "not worthy of good." Gaga told Lowe, "I stopped and eventually forgave myself. But I think I forgave myself because I thought I was human too. Oh, I'm doing something incredibly human. Look at me, I'm so human." [If you're listening to this album and you're suffering in any way, know that that suffering itself is an expression of your humanity and you're not broken."
