Cameron Diaz May Return to Acting After Retirement to Have Time for Herself

Observant moviegoers will have noticed that Cameron Diaz has not appeared in a film since 2014's Annie. It was a conscious decision on Diaz's part: "I think, I've devoted more than half my life to the world," she told InStyle (opens in new tab) in 2019. She also told fans on Instagram Live (opens in new tab) last week that she has "no plans to do any more movies at this point."

However, Diaz's fans still have hope: according to Entertainment Tonight, her retirement is likely not final. While her main focus is on spending time with her baby daughter Radix (open in new tab) and husband Benji Madden, she is reportedly open to future projects that do not disrupt her home life.

"Cameron is enjoying her time away from the action and spending time with her husband and baby Radix," an unnamed source told Entertainment Tonight.

"Cameron has worked consistently for nearly 20 years and needed a break.

"Cameron loves being a mother and that is her main focus right now," the source continued." The source continued, "Cameron will be selective about the projects she considers in the future, but right now it's all about family. Hearing that," indeed, it is unlikely that her return is imminent, but there is talk of future projects! Diaz's resurrection awaits!
