David and Victoria Beckham reportedly want to build an underground escape tunnel from their home.

David and Victoria Beckham (opens in new tab) are thinking of making a major security upgrade to their home.

According to Page Six (opens in new tab), the power couple is considering a major upgrade to their nine-bedroom Cotswold home: an underground escape tunnel.

Citing planning documents obtained by the Express, Page Six reports that the Beckhams are considering installing "an underground passageway connecting the family's nine Cotswold bedrooms to their luxury car garage."

According to the blueprints:

"The proposed development would include the construction of a new underground cellar with a connected walkway under the existing garage extension... The basement cellar is for wine storage and the proposed use of the outbuildings is solely related to the main house... It will improve security for the occupants of the premises."

Why the sudden desire for security measures like Bruce Wayne and the Batcave? The Beckhams (open in new tab) are said to have started thinking about beefing up security at their home after hearing that Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli was robbed at knife-point in his North London mansion.

Also, the Beckhams' home has been targeted by burglars (open in new tab) several times in recent years, so their emphasis on security is definitely understandable.
