Read MoreJessica Mulroney is known for her career as a fashion influencer, her contributions to Good Morning America, her relationship with Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex (opens in new tab), and as the daughter-in-law of former Canadian Prime Minister Brian Mulroney She has been known as the daughter-in-law of former Canadian Prime Minister Brian Mulroney. This week, however, she is in the news for an entirely different reason. On Wednesday afternoon, Canadian lifestyle blogger Sasha Exeter published a nearly 12-minute video on Instagram about her experience with Mulroney.
Exeter believes that Marlonie "took offense" to Exeter's general call for influencers to use their platforms to promote anti-racism.
"What happened next was a series of very problematic actions and antics, and finally [Marlonie] sent me a written threat last Wednesday," said Exeter, who is black. [Listen, I am in no way saying Jess is a racist. And that, my friends, is what gave her the momentary confidence to write for my livelihood," she continued, accusing Marlonie of using "textbook white privilege."
Specifically, Exeter said that Marlonie contacted Brando and spoke ill of her.

Marlonie first publicly apologized in a comment on Exeter's video. The comment read:
"As I told you privately, I had a very public and personal experience with one of my closest friends in which race came to the fore. I learned a great deal. I learned a lot from it."
But according to Exeter, after making this apology, Mulroney sent her a DM, which read: "I'm filing a lawsuit. Good luck."
She was told that she was "in the process of getting a new job.
After Exeter shared the DM with her followers, Mulroney issued multiple apologies to Exeter on her Instagram account, in which she promised to "use every platform and resource to continue my anti-racism work."

However, Mulroney is already facing repercussions for her remarks. On Thursday evening, CTV released a statement about its relationship with Mulroney; CTV was airing her marriage reality series "I Do Redo" (open in new tab).
It reads:
As Bell Media and CTV pledge to work better and more openly to listen to and amplify Black voices rather than minimize them, our entire team, including on-air talent, respect, inclusivity, allyship We encourage them to practice the following. Because of recent actions by one of our show hosts, Jessica Mulroney, that conflict with our commitment to diversity and equality, CTV has immediately removed "I DO REDO" from all Bell Media channels and platforms.
In a statement released after the CTV news, Mulroney shared that he intends to "step away" from his professional obligations to "reflect, learn, and focus on family."
"The events of the past few days have made it clear to me that I have work to do," Marlony wrote in an Instagram story.
"I realize more than ever how being a privileged white woman has put me far ahead of so many, especially those in the black community."
"And while I can't change the past, I can do my part to make the future better," she said.
"I respect CTV's decision and have decided to step away from professional work at this time. I will take this time to reflect, learn, and focus on my family."
She said.
Mulroney also clarified that he does not intend to pursue legal action against Exeter.
"I Do Redo" was scheduled to premiere in the U.S. on Netflix later this year (open in new tab). The streaming giant has yet to publicly comment on the status of the series.
