In honor of Pride Month (open in new tab) and in support of Black Lives Matter, here are 17 Black-led LGBTQ+ service and activist groups you can support right now through donations. These groups are making a real difference in their communities and across the country, and they need your help now and always.

This is by no means a complete list of all the wonderful Black-led organizations, but please bookmark this page as we will continually update it.

This organization helps LGBTQ+ people in jails and immigration detention centers post bail so they can be released. It is also one of the leading groups for raising awareness about LGBTQ over-incarceration in our country.

San Francisco has the world's first trans district. Their program works to stabilize and economically empower trans communities by creating safe and thriving neighborhoods by trans people for trans people.

For over 40 years, AVP has been pushing to end all forms of violence against lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and HIV-affected communities. Based in New York City, AVP supports survivors through free counseling and other educational events.

Solutions Not Punishment Co. is invested in community support for the empowerment of Black trans and queer people in Atlanta. Their work includes seeking to end the mass incarceration of Black trans women and the larger Black community through holding local government accountable.

To ensure the safety of Black trans women when they travel, the Black Trans Travel Fund raises funds and provides safe transportation so that they can travel in comfort.

Since 1994, the organization has provided a safe community center for lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, and gender non-conforming individuals in the New York City area. Its programs range from support groups to community-based anti-violence programs.

Named after activist and drag queen Marsha P. Johnson (open in new tab), the organization focuses on protecting and advocating for the rights of black transgender people. It also offers fellowships to help transgender artists earn income and fellowships to support community-driven projects in the Midwest and South.

Located in San Francisco, the Transgender Gender-Variant & Intersex Justice Project is in California prisons, jails and detention centers. It provides legal services to transgender and gender-variant/nonconforming people. It also assists in providing housing and medical services to those recently reintegrated into society.

This woman-run organization provides aid to black women, their families, and other marginalized populations across the country. since march 29, it has provided over $26,000 in relief to COVID-19 victims. Since March 29, the organization has provided more than $26,000 in relief funds to the victims of COVID-19.

Brave Space Alliance on Chicago's South Side is the first black-led and trans-led LGBTQ center in the area. They typically host support groups, partner with local organizations to provide free produce to their members, and currently offer COVID-19 testing.

The organization ensures that trans people of color tell their stories and are not silenced. The Trans Women of Color Collective provides a safe space for trans women of color to be themselves with dignity, along with a community that overwhelmingly supports trans women of color.
