Iconic "Golden Girls" home comes up for sale for the first time

Whether you are a big fan of "The Golden Girls" or a casual viewer, you are probably familiar with Blanche's mid-century-style home at 6151 Richmond Street in Miami, Florida. As you may already know, the address is bogus, as are all the rooms in the house where the girls were filmed. But the iconic one-story house that appeared in the first season of "The Golden Girls" is real. And now, for the first time, it is for sale (opens in new tab).

This charming, 2,901-square-foot, four-bedroom home is listed for $2,999,000 on Douglas Elliman Real Estate (opens in new tab). It is located at 245 N Saltair Ave in the Brentwood neighborhood of Los Angeles, CA.

This sale is significant for two reasons. First, you get to live in the actual "Golden Girls" house! And second, fans who have only seen the exterior for years will finally get to see the inside of the actual house.

While the house's 50s exterior and palm trees in the front match the Miami storyline, the interior tells a completely different story. Japanese and Hawaiian culture is subtly incorporated throughout the house. It is no wonder, then, that the property was custom built in 1955 by a modern Hawaiian architect. The owners have a family home in Honolulu and wanted to incorporate that flavor into their new home.

Inside, glass walls, clerestory windows, and a high-rise beamed ceiling let in natural light. A veranda connects the living room to the backyard.

The house tastefully mixes natural color and textural elements to create a calm and tranquil space.

Soft yet vibrant furnishings and decorations add a playful energy.

The kitchen may be our favorite room. Featuring turquoise blue formaca, turquoise blue and avocado green cabinets, and yellow accents, the room is a strong reminder of its time!

Sliding shoji screens connect each space.

Innovative storage solutions abound with built-in cabinets.

The house has four bathrooms. Blanche, Dorothy, Rose, and Sofia would have loved the space.

How this gem of a home remains in such pristine condition is a mystery, but we certainly like it. A list of properties owned by Rachel Rosten can be found here. Now, about the aerial view!
