Tracee Ellis Ross teaches how to create iconic "written" baby hair.
Actor Tracee Ellis Ross is known for wearing iconic hairstyles, from elegant cornrows to her signature curly afro. The owner of Pattern Beauty never ceases to amaze with her bold and beautiful looks, and on July 28, Tracee Ellis Ross gave fans a baby hair lesson on Instagram: In an IG TV video, Ross used products from her hair care line, Pattern Beauty to give fans a step-by-step guide to creating her iconic written baby hair.
The actor began the tutorial by using the brand's Edge tool (opens in new tab) to trim the bangs at the hairline. (Ross calls her baby hair "grown-up women's hair.") After snipping the edges away from three messy buns, she began applying Strong Hold Gel (open in new tab) to the loose strands. From there, the fun began: Ross began strategically molding her edges into intricate loops and swirls, starting at the forehead and working sideways until she had a beautifully placed hairline. To secure the edges, she used the edge control (open in new tab).
Ross completed her masterpiece in less than three minutes, and at the end of the tutorial, she revealed her ramen baby hair in its entirety. This tutorial is the first of many hair tutorials to come from Pattern Beauty, and we already can't wait to see what style tutorial the baby hair queen will create next.
