Lana Del Rey dyes her hair champagne blonde.
Many have been forced to take on the role of hair colorist (open in new tab) or manicurist (open in new tab) this year due to home stays and hair salon closures caused by COVID-19. Singer-songwriter Lana Del Rey is one of them. After being quarantined, the 35-year-old took matters into her own hands in May by brightening her hair with lemon juice (yikes). Thankfully, hair salons are slowly starting to open their doors, and Singer wasted no time getting back into the professional hair chair.
Singer decided to transform her dark-toned hair into a warm, summery style. Hairstylist Shelby Blankenship of Blankenship Salon in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, revealed the first phase of Del Rey's champagne blonde hair on Instagram.
"We are so humbled that Lana Del Rey visited our salon and gave us the opportunity to fix her up. This is not the end goal, but we are taking baby steps to get her there while keeping her hair as healthy as possible. She can literally do anything, and I can't wait to see this iconic champagne blonde once she gets rid of all the old dark color. A true beauty," Blankenship captioned a photo of the singer.
A salon representative told Popsugar (opens in new tab) about Del Rey's color process, saying the salon started with Bablight, used Goldwell's Silk Lift for maximum lift, and "blended old highlights between foils to to Redken's Shade EQ, and then moved on to smudging." After washing out her highlights, they "did a small shadow route with Redken shade 9M and glossed her ends with shades 10VV and 10GI to keep her as bright as possible with more clear."[7
This look is definitely a moment for the singer and we can't wait to see pictures of the second phase.
