Actress and model Barbie Ferreira is demanding representation.
Since appearing as Kat in HBO's "Euphoria," model and actress Barbie Ferreira (opens in new tab) has entered a new realm of fame. From her iconic beauty looks at events (opens in new tab) and at home (opens in new tab) to her IDGAF attitude, Ferreira has become an icon for women and girls of all ages who appreciate her fresh and honest perspective. Her new film, "Unpregnant" (open in new tab), a coming-of-age film about two young women on a journey to find an abortion clinic, opens September 10 on HBO Max. Ferreira is also the new face of Becca Cosmetics (opens in new tab), which is further immersing herself in the world of beauty. Here, she reveals how TikToks, meditation, and a skin-first makeup approach keep her sane in isolation.
My sleep schedule is something I've struggled with since I was young. I'm a really disorganized sleeper. But lately I've been sleeping better. I wake up a lot, so I think I need to sleep a lot. I'm trying to go to bed early and get up early.
If I don't put on makeup, I don't wash my face in the morning. For me personally and my skin, I think a hands-off approach is best, with just a little bit of lotion. In the morning, I just use BECCA ZERO (opens in new tab) no-pigment foundation. I definitely try a lot, but what I usually do is one bright color on the eyes. That's most of my makeup. That and a little highlight. Lately I like to use a transparent highlighter. It's not extremely glittery. So I use BECCA's Zero Highlight (opens in new tab).
I'm trying to hike in LA and it's hard because there are so many people out there and I'm trying to do my civic duty as someone who isn't around a million people. So I'm going out hiking at times when it's not so crowded. I also drive to the beach with my partner and just hang out. But only for a limited amount of time. We also play a lot of board games and chess. Those things are always fun.
You can make your own path. For me, and I think a lot of people can relate to this, it's very important to see people who look like you on TV. But if you don't see yourself in them, that can't be the factor that stops you. Some people say, "I have never seen people like me doing this. Oh, someone has to change. Don't be discouraged.
My skin problems are going on under the surface and it's messing with my texture. So I try to get a facial every couple of months. When I was in New York, I went to Rescue Spa. That was the only place that did anything to my face. I like expensive masks. I like the Mask Vivant by Biologique Recherche.
I also like to buy cheap tools that I wouldn't even consider, like face shavers (opens in new tab). They smooth out my makeup.
At night, it's usually a Biologique Recherche cleanser, P50 toner, and then iS Clinical moisturizer. There is also a eucalyptus spray that I use on my pillow.
Before bed, I watch TikToks or read. I also like to do a little guided meditation. I might astral project. I might lucid dream. Who can say?
