TRESemmé Donates $10,000 to 10 Black Women Hair Stylists

Yesterday, TRESemmé opened applications for its new scholarship, the Future Stylist Fund (opens in new tab), which TRESemmé also hopes will mentor 10 selected hairstylists through experience and networking opportunities. A longtime sponsor of New York Fashion Week, TRESemmé hopes this new initiative will help diversify both the beauty and fashion industries.

TRESemmé's website states: "TRESemmé knows that when women lead, everyone benefits. However, there are many institutional barriers that prevent women from advancing in their careers. That's why we are taking action to advance the careers of Black women in the beauty industry with this annual tuition fund"

.

Prospective applicants will be asked to submit a 60-second video explaining how this fund will help their career and show a portfolio of work that TRESemmé is most proud of. The brand plans to continue this college fund annually.
