Chelsea Clinton Explains Why She and Ivanka Trump Are No Longer Friends
Remember when Chelsea Clinton and Ivanka Trump declared to the world that they were good friends and would remain good friends (open in new tab) no matter what the outcome of one election in 2016? Who could have predicted it?
Clinton appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on Thursday and made her feelings clear when asked where she and Trump stand. As Entertainment Tonight reports (opens in new tab), she said, "I haven't spoken to her since 2016, and I have no interest in being friends with someone who is not only complicit but an active participant in the daily clash of cruelty and incompetence in this administration. 'That's the answer.'
"We stayed in touch at the beginning of the campaign," Clinton continued.
"But it's really hard when someone actively embraces a candidate, father or not, who is racist, sexist, anti-Semitic, Islamophobic, homophobic, transphobic, conspiracy-theory, riddled with lies, and fundamentally corrupt."I don't think [Ivanka and her father] are the same by any standard, but I think she is more than complicit, as is everyone who has worked for him for so long," Clinton continued. 'And I wouldn't want to be friends with someone like that.
Clinton's take on Tuesday's debate between Donald Trump and Joe Biden is that "Donald Trump remains a racist, incompetent, miserable human ghoul."
