Twitter Endorses Kamala Harris in Vice Presidential Debate
On Wednesday, October 7, Vice Presidential candidate Kamala Harris debated (open in new tab) Vice President Mike Pence in Salt Lake City, Utah. After last week's debacle, aka "The First Presidential Debate (open in new tab)," the nation didn't know what to expect, but tonight was a bit... I guess you could say I'm starting to feel more like a Vice President. After all, having a black, South Asian woman on our TV screens tonight is a milestone in itself.
During the debate, Harris and Pence were separated by Plexiglas after President Trump tested positive for COVID-19 last Friday. Both Senator Harris and Vice President Pence tested negative for COVID-19, but Harris' team demanded that proper safety protocols be put in place (open in new tab). Naturally, the first topic of discussion was the COVID-19 pandemic, which has killed more than 210,000 Americans, and Harris stressed the need for competent leadership, which has been lacking under the Trump/Pence administration. It was only the beginning of Harris' overnight truth-telling to the powers that be.
