Who is Spencer Robertson, the "Bachelorette" hotshot?
Spoilers ahead for The Bachelorette Even before this season of The Bachelorette aired, one person had people talking: Spencer Robertson, after COVID-19 was delayed and Crowley's season was recast with older contestants. and a new addition to the cast (open in new tab). The handsome 30-year-old Robertson has been considered a key player from the beginning, and spoiler testimonials confirm that he is an important figure for the show. So what do we know about him?
According to his Facebook bio when he was introduced as a contestant, Robertson is from La Jolla, California. According to his public Instagram (opens in new tab), he lives in San Diego (Adams is from Orange (opens in new tab)). He used to play lacrosse as a midfielder (open in new tab) and was alerted by his former team about his new role:
Robertson has not posted since December 2019, so there are still not many personal details about him (Adams is was quite private as well) before joining Colton Underwood's Bachelor season. He has posted since 2012 that he is an avid traveler (open in new tab) and is very, very into sports, with the Oregon Ducks (his alma mater) being his team of choice.
His last post was about being best man at a friend's wedding:
He also very occasionally posts about his family. This appears to be a (very) throwback photo he posted in 2014:
We also learned that he has a brother!
Oops, smart guy! According to his LinkedIn (open in new tab) (discovered before he deleted his profile picture), he went to the University of Oregon for chemistry and now works as the founder (open in new tab) and general manager of Robertson Water Treatment, judging from his photo tagged in 2017 Then it looks like he has a lot of workout time:
In what appears to be his (unverified) Twitter, Robertson tweets about sports:
He also occasionally RTs about animal rights:
and, very occasionally about politics. However, he has not posted since the beginning of 2019, so it is clear that he is not particularly active on social media, unless he has a private account we do not know about.
According to Bachelorette (open in new tab) spoiler Reality Steve (open in new tab), this is interesting - given that Robertson was initially brought in for Crowley, it sounds like there was an initial spark between the two (ie.... I can definitely see that). However, that doesn't necessarily mean that Robertson will be the hero of this drama. I will update as soon as I know more details.
Update 11/17: According to Reality Steve and multiple Bachelor spoiler accounts, Robertson is an early favorite and doesn't get very far in the end. He never reaches his hometown, in fact, let alone further. Despite initial rumors that he might win the championship, it is unlikely that we will ever see Robertson on screen again.
