Who is Brendan Morais in The Bachelorette?

Spoilers for this season of Bachelorette. Well, this season may be the most dramatic season (opens in new tab) in Bachelorette history. After Claire Crawley sensationally quit the show to join contestant Dale Moss, (opens in new tab) Taysia Adams took the reins, and a smaller group of men (see Adams' full 20-member male cast here (opens in new tab)) and Crawley's intervened to finish the season. We already know a few things about her season. For example, one contestant who will soon become important is Brendan Morais (opens in new tab), a 30-year-old Milford, Massachusetts native with an interesting background as an actor and artist. So what do we know about him and why is he so important this season?

According to his ABC bio (opens in new tab), Morais lost his father at an early age and really wants to be a father. He lived in Los Angeles for a bit, but returned to Massachusetts to be with his family and work in the family roofing business. His passion is coaching his high school basketball team, and he loves hanging out with his nieces and nephews, some of whom have a cute presence on his Instagram:

According to his bio, he is super into turtlenecks and was authenticated on Instagram before the show

Like Adams, he was married but eventually divorced.

Oh, and his nickname is BMoney.

An actor and model, Morais is represented by NEMG (open in new tab) and Maggie Agency (open in new tab). He models for New Balance and Life is Good and has worked in television ads (see below). His Instagram is mostly work photos:

Yes, this is him in an ad as a groom:

Before he finished shooting Bachelorette and released his Instagram, Morais listed himself in his bio as an "artist." according to IMDb (opens in new tab) says he has three on-screen credits: two short films ("Chances" and "Ace of Spades") and the adventure comedy "Get Rich Free," all from 2017. Here is the trailer:

According to the film's Facebook page (opens in new tab), Morais first played a Russian thug in The Equalizer. He also appears to have appeared in commercials for Jeep, FAGE Greek yogurt, Joseph A. Bank, and Truly Hard Seltzer (opens in new tab), some of which can be seen on his Maggie Agency page. This is his acting reel, and you should definitely watch it soon.

Adams, suggesting that Morais is a major part of her season, said of their first date on Becca Kufrin and Rachel Lindsay's Bachelor Happy Hour podcast: "I feel like it was definitely a turning point. I feel like it was. It's fun being the Bachelorette. It's definitely fun being 'The Bachelorette.' But there was an initial connection, and I was like, 'Wait a minute. I feel something. This could be something. I'm going to lean in a little bit.'"

Now, there's a big spoiler coming up, so if you don't want to know how this season ends, click this article now. Ready.

According to Reality Steve, Morais does an eighth after Hometown. Adams falls for him - she confirms in a post-show interview that she fell in love with more than one person - but there's a catch: Morais is not ready to get engaged and realizes it while picking out a ring with Neil Lane. (23]

Morais' relatively recent divorce is what he and Adams are bonding over, but it could also be why he's not ready to take things super seriously. Keep in mind, too, that Adams was a late addition to this season, so she and Morais have had less time together than even the previous contestants and leading men have (which wasn't much time to begin with).

Reality Steve reports that Morais left of her own volition after making it to the final three, and Adams is shocked. He said, "For what it's worth, Brendan is the one Taysha wanted. And when he left, she was pretty distraught, but still chose someone in the end," he writes. Also in the promo, Adams' father warns that she may make the biggest mistake of her life (opens in new tab), so obviously things get pretty intense.

Adams gets hitched to another contestant, Zach Clark (open in new tab), but they don't get engaged. In other words, the finale could suggest either that Adams still has unfinished feelings for Morais, or that Adams followed Morais because it was too soon to get engaged. However, since there is no "After the Final Rose" due to quarantine, we will likely only find out what happened after the shoot by zooming in on the call.
