This neck cream makes my tech neck disappear.
Welcome to Worth It! Every other week, I'll introduce you to a new product that I've tested and loved: I'm talking about the kind of love that drains to the bottom and says to your friends, "I love this!" I'm talking about the kind of love that makes you say, "I love it! Consider it permission to splurge on anything featured here. Read on to learn more about the products you don't want to part with. No matter how young you are, the skin on your neck ages quickly. It is more susceptible to sun damage, more prone to sagging due to less fatty tissue, and more prone to skin dryness and wrinkling due to fewer oil glands. And neck technology ....... Joke.
This special neck cream aims to reform the vulnerable skin of the neck and décolleté from four different angles. It visibly tightens the skin, smoothes out lines and wrinkles that make the skin look older, strengthens the skin's moisture barrier, evens out skin tone, and fades discoloration. Essentially, it launches an all-out assault against anything that might make the jawline and neck look less than perfect.
I love my parents. They are the light of my life. Because when they decided to procreate and threw all their genes into the pool, I inherited their genes pretty evenly: my mother's fine hair texture, my father's cartoonish eyebrows, and somehow half a nose. But there is one small trait they both have in common, and that is contouring every morning.
Everyone has fat pads in this area, but some people are genetically predisposed to have a bulky appearance. Weight gain and inflammation (e.g., hangovers) can make a double chin more noticeable, but people who have a family history of double chins, regardless of their size, may have a more noticeable double chin. I like to think I have a healthy self-image, but my neck area has always been my biggest insecurity. This is because my soft profile bears no resemblance to the sculpted model chins that are admired. To make matters worse, the extra folds created by my submental fat exacerbate my tech neck, which looks like two faint but permanent ligature marks. It's a metamorphosis!
Some treatments have been developed for submental fullness, like Kybella (open in new tab), which breaks up fat, and fat grafting, which is similar to liposuction. However, I am a baby when it comes to needles, so I have mostly relied on neck creams to tighten my jawline along with my neck and décolleté area. In my job as a beauty editor, I've tried dozens of formulas, but rarely find an option that makes a lasting and noticeable difference; StriVectin's Tightening Cream (open in new tab) works; I've been using it twice a day for six weeks and the skin on my neck has actually changed. The tech neck marks are thinner and smoother, the skin under my chin feels firmer, and my jawline looks tighter. That area, which had always bothered me, looks lifted for once! If I had expected such a difference, I would have taken before and after pictures. It's not a substitute for something more invasive, but one is enough to give you a little lift and confidence.
