Beep Beep Who are the hottest people in movies and jeeps?
It's an old story: attractive people in movies doing their own thing, indifferent to the laws and rules that normal people have to follow. Wearing funny clothes? Someone will pay for a makeover that will make Tan France in "Queer Eye" (open in new tab) look like an amateur. Never seen him studying? Don't worry, you can get into Yale on a scholarship. (God really does have favorites.) And no matter what, you'll be driving a Jeep Wrangler.
First of all, let the record state. This is a car that could have been nominated for an Oscar for its supporting role in Jurassic Park. However, logically, no one should have been held criminally liable for being a teenager driving around a coastal town (somehow the waterfront was always nearby) with a beeping sound.
Most people's first cars were either hand-me-downs or belonged to Mr. Henry Ford's dynasty. I had both; a 2005 Ford Focus and I went everywhere together. And because I was a dramatic and ungrateful 16-year-old, I named him Kevin after Jonas's oldest brother. Why the harsh criticism, you might ask, because I wanted a Jeep so badly.
From Steve, played by Sean Faris in "Sleepover," to Jake McDormand as Raymond in "Aquamarine," I've watched the (new tab-opening) cars I was obsessed with as a kid roll down their windows and drive around town, breaking (my) heart and stealing my name. I've seen it. Even style icons like Cher in Clueless have turned a car known for its off-roading prowess into the most expensive accessory not the latest it-bag. Jules, played by Demi Moore in St. Elmo's Fire, drove this car after graduating from Georgetown University!
Hot people and cars without doors are the bread and butter of coming-of-age stories (open in new tab), with a few exceptions outside this age group, like Nicholas Parker in The Parent Trap and Lorelei Gilmore in Gilmore Girls (open in new tab), but mostly our favorite teen heartthrobs were never in the driver's seat unless they were in a Jeep. In the name of hot people history, I had to find out if this was a coincidence or a decision made by a bunch of Hollywood execs.
