Mysterious voices heard on the radio in "Wanda Vision" explained.

On the surface, "Wander Vision" is a fun, cheeky sitcom about two Marvel superheroes having wholesome suburban fantasies. But this Disney+ show (open in new tab) is a dark tale about the multiverse and trauma, wrapped in a web of MCU Easter eggs. One of those Easter eggs is a callback to "Ant-Man and the Wasp".

In the second episode, inspired by the 60s, Wanda (Elizabeth Olsen) hears on the radio, "Who did this to you?" the fourth wall is momentarily broken when she hears a voice repeatedly asking, "Who did this to you? This strange incident was not featured again in the episode, but fans quickly identified the voice as Agent Jimmy Wu (Randall Park).

Wu, of course, is the federal agent assigned to keep an eye on Scott Lang (Paul Rudd), who was ordered under house arrest in the "Ant-Man" sequel. More of a pesky adversary and youth pastor (which he actually is) than a villain, Wu can't seem to figure out why Lang keeps escaping his demons (hint: he's a superhero) or how he does that card trick. Wu is not seen again in the MCU, even though Ant-Wan and Wasp (Evangeline Lilly) joined the legion of good guys who defeated Thanos in "Avengers: Endgame" Despite this.

Wu is not the only tertiary character from the MCU to reappear in "Wander Vision. Kat Dennings, best known for her role as Darcy in the film "Thor," has also been confirmed for the new show (opens in new tab).

Is Wu working to help Wanda? Is he just keeping tabs on her like he did with Scott? (Wanda is technically a fugitive after "Captain America: Civil War," but it is unclear what happened to the Sokovia Accords after "The Snap.") Is Wu a member of S.W.O.R.D.?

Wanda Vision finally gave viewers many answers in episode 4, zooming out from Wanda's alternate world and showing how her actions affected everyone else. One of the answers was that it was actually Agent Jimmy Wu (who seems to have learned Scott Lang's card trick) who was on the other side of the radio receiver.

In this episode, Agent Wu, who was still an FBI agent, was one of the first to suspect that something fishy was going on about the mysterious town of Wanda. He asks S.W.O.R.D. for help, but things go wrong, and after Agent Monica Rambo (Teyonah Parris) disappears, he joins the rescue effort/investigation of Wanda's "show." At one point, he and Darcy attempt to break into Wanda's world through her radio, and Wu is seen speaking the lines Wanda heard in episode 4.

Park's hilarious performance of the character quickly won over audiences, and Twitter was abuzz with some of his best moments in the episode.

Viewers may be surprised to find Woo playing such a major role on the show, considering his limited role in the MCU thus far, but fans of the comics should be unfazed; according to Inverse (opens in new tab), Agent Jimmy Woo was at the center of Marvel's predecessor Atlas Comics' "Yellow Claw" series, which debuted in 1956; according to Inverse, Woo was one of the first Asian-American heroes in comics, with more "James Bond-like swagger and class. He was a straight, serious hero."

Inverse also reports that Wu's character continued in Marvel Comics, working alongside S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Nick Fury. Wu eventually became the leader of the "Agents of Atlas."

Does Wu's presence in Wander Vision await a future spin-off in which he leads a superhero group like the Avengers?

Studio head Kevin Feige previously told Variety (open in new tab) that they are using Disney+ as a way to "grow and expand" the world and plan to "explore the characters further," so the possibility is always there.
