Paralympian Jessica Long's Must-See Toyota Ad
If you didn't cry when you saw Toyota's Super Bowl LV ad featuring Paralympian Jessica Long... You might want to talk to someone about that. The touching commercial, a love letter to both the adoption and disability communities, depicts the parents of a current gold medalist (they are played by actors, but this is a true story) receiving word that their daughter, who is up for adoption, will need to have both legs amputated. Long's mother, played by the actor in the commercial, tearfully replies, "It may not be easy, but it will be wonderful." I can't wait to meet her."
The commercial features Long swimming through life's milestones, from being able to walk to swimming competitively, as her adoring parents look on. The voiceover says, "Mr. Long, we have found a girl who is available for adoption. Her leg will need to be amputated... Her life, it will not be easy."
And people are loving it (and crying:)

"This spot, I like that it highlights not only the gold medals and accomplishments, but also the difficult road to get there," Long said in a statement.
