Welcome to Beauty Around the Clock, Marie Claire's weekly peek into the daily lives of the most influential women in their industries. How do these women get through the day's work? [Emily DiDonato (opens in new tab), who has walked the runways for Chanel, Givenchy, and Balmain and starred in campaigns for Armani and Maybelline, recently added entrepreneur to her resume. Her new line, Covey Skin (opens in new tab), which she co-founded with Google executive Christina Uribe, launched with just three products that make it easy to get your routine on the go. DiDonato doesn't have time for complications. Whether she's modeling, giving TikTok (opens in new tab) viewers a behind-the-scenes look at her life, or delighting her 2 million Instagram followers with a well-choreographed outfit change, DiDonato doesn't slow down quickly. Below, she shares her must-have beauty products, her blonde eyebrow-dyeing secrets, and the smoothies that keep her feeling active.
I usually wake up around 5:30am. I've always been an early riser and so is my puppy. First I go to the kitchen and make an iced oats milk latte in a giant mason jar. I would say "I drink a big glass of water," but I just go straight for the coffee.
In the morning I work out, and when I get back I always wash my face with First of All Cleanser (opens in new tab), Next Step Vitamin C Serum (opens in new tab), and Last But Not Least Moisturizer ). Then I always apply sunscreen. We spent a very long time formulating our cover products. It was a long process, but it paid off. We wanted to create this universal, simple skin care routine.
I drink a smoothie every day after my workout with whey protein, carbs, lots of greens, almond milk, and mixed berries. I walk 2-3 miles on the treadmill almost every day. It's very important for me to feel better.
I recently found a new playlist on Spotify. It's called Hot Girl Shit, and it's really good. I love it.
I recently went on a trip. I've tried a lot of different songs, but I always go back to Don't Blow It (open in new tab) by Bumble and Bumble. It keeps my natural texture a bit subdued. Without it, my hair looks completely different every day.
Chanel Coco Mademoiselle (open in new tab).
For my lips, I love Aquaphor (opens in new tab). And Just For Men Beard Dye (opens in new tab) for my eyebrows. My eyebrows are very pale and blonde, so I dye them.
To be honest, my mother is very beautiful and her routine is very minimal. She's always neat and laid back in a way, but she does her own thing.
A 90-minute deep tissue massage at a really nice spa. I used to frequent Soho Sanctuary (opens in new tab). Great Jones Spa (opens in new tab) is also great. Aire in Tribeca (opens in new tab) is also a super luxurious experience.
Sometimes I apply something like retinol, and I always use lip balm and hand cream.
I never go past 9:15; I'm in bed by 9:00. My husband always wants to watch a show, but I say, "No, I want to stay awake in bed with my eyes closed."
