Since becoming a mother last November, Charlotte Cho (opens in new tab), K-Beauty authority, best-selling author, and founder of Soko Glam (opens in new tab), has been thinking a lot about the meaning of self-care. She says, "My postpartum journey, especially the first three months, was more challenging than I anticipated. 'I've always enjoyed my skin care rituals, but now I really consider them to be moments of self-care. Other "me time" Cho does after her daughter goes to bed is watching K-dramas (opens in new tab) and putting the finishing touches on her second book, The Little Book of Jeong (opens in new tab), which will be released in July. One of the most important concepts in Korean culture, "jeong" refers to the deep and meaningful connections felt between people, places, and things. Through my personal story, I would like to share how chon has changed my life and career for the better." But first, here are some self-care strategies and tools, including her easy Korean BBQ recipe.
Sound Machine (open in new tab) [Daughter] Kennedy has found a sound machine to be an effective tool during nap time. We have researched that white noise really helps her sleep deeply, so we have incorporated this tool into our nightly routine to ensure a better restful sleep.
Bori tea (Korean barley tea) (open in new tab) I enjoy the taste of roasted barley tea instead of soda, coffee, or caffeinated tea. Barley tea is the main drinking water in many households and has many health benefits, including aiding digestion. It is very easy to make, as all you need to do is boil a handful of kernels in a kettle, and you can store it in a pitcher in the refrigerator and drink it hot or iced.
Daily Devotionals (God's Wisdom for Navigating Life) (opens in new tab)Quiet time for reflection and great daily reading for the soul. It has great advice for my role as a parent, spouse, manager, and friend, and ties in with the book of Proverbs to help me meditate and challenge myself spiritually.
This is not a product or app, but simply a goal I set for myself to spend less time on my cell phone by keeping it away from me when the sun goes down.

Neogen Real Ferment Micro Mist (opens in new tab) Spray this essence on your face and neck throughout the day and your skin will feel supple, moist, and refreshed. 90% fermented yeast formula deeply moisturizes skin and helps cell turnover. It helps.
Baccarat Rouge 540 Eau de Parfum (opens in new tab) Before Pandemic, this was my favorite scent. I was always complimented on how attractive and striking this scent was. I can't wait for more post-pandemic activity involving more perfumes and fragrances.
Then I Met You The Giving Essence (opens in new tab)Essence is the heart of my skin care routine. I simply put a few drops of this silky essence in the palm of my hand and intentionally pat it deeply into my skin. It's one of my favorite steps because of the whitening effect of the serum and the deep moisturizing effect of the essence.

Traditional sides include kimchi, garlic, miso, green onions, and rice. Add leafy greens such as lettuce and shiso to wrap.
2. Grill the meat to desired size. If too large, cut into small pieces with scissors. 3. 3. when done grilling, wrap the meat with the leafy greens. Add your favorite toppings from the side and dress. You can also wrap one by one as a gesture of chong to those who are eating with you. 4. 4. with shochu. Drink straight from the shot glass. Or add a squeeze of fresh lemon to the shot glass to enhance the flavor. Eat, drink, and repeat.
