The light-from-within approach to your makeup look is all the rage this summer. According to celebrity makeup artist Keita Moore (open in new tab), skin and light coverage are at the forefront of this season's trends. 'With the need to wear masks, it makes sense that full-coverage makeup has been minimized. People are taking better care of their skin and reaching for lighter coverage," Moore says.
To achieve this fresh look, first prepare the skin with Giorgio Armani's Luminous Silk Hydrating Primer (opens in new tab) and apply a thin layer of Luminous Silk Foundation (opens in new tab). Luminous Silk Glow Setting Powder (opens in new tab) for a very smooth, glowing finish.
The lost magic of the 90s supermodel is back. Says Moore, "We've taken the beauty looks worn by Linda Evangelista, Cindy Crawford, and Naomi Campbell and incorporated them into the 2021 trends." Eyes: matte brown shadow and full-volume mascara. Eyebrows: slightly arched and natural. Lips: deep nude color with a little gloss. Skin: Not too matte, not too shiny. This is perfect for the current no-makeup trend."
This summer, glowing, sun-kissed skin and warm-toned eyes are likely to be the trend. Celebrity makeup artist and Dior Makeup brand ambassador Sabrina Bedrani (open in new tab) makes a point of highlighting the eyes. Says Bedrani, "It's about bringing freshness to the face and bringing out the eyes without tight lines." 'To achieve this look, I love using Dior Forever Skin Glow (opens in new tab).'
To achieve the warm, glowing highlight of your dreams, Bedrani recommends another hero product: the Rosy Glow Blush (opens in new tab). Apply to the high cheekbones.
Bedrani recommends playing with warm peach and nude-toned colors to subtly bring out facial features." For this look, we love the Dior 5 Couleurs Couture Eyeshadow Palette in the Summer Dune Collection in 699 Mirage (opens in new tab) and a soft nude lipstick like Rouge Dior 100 Nude Look (opens in new tab)."

The beauty trend for summer 2021 is to play with light to achieve a natural sheen. Chanel makeup artist and groomer Tasha Reiko Brown (open in new tab) is all about incorporating subtle shimmer into the look and making the skin glow. For me," says Brown, "the Chanel Les Beiges 2021 collection is the perfect embodiment of playing with light."
To achieve this ethereal shimmer and reflect light around the eyes, Brown's go-to summer palette for all-in-one beauty is Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Natural Eyeshadow Palette in Intense (opens in new tab) to brighten and define the eyes, Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Bronzing Cream (opens in new tab) to warm the complexion subtly, and Chanel Rouge Coco Bloom Lip Color (open in new tab) gives a light, velvety finish.
This season, power up your look with assertive eye makeup. Paul Garcia, YSL Beauty's Education and Artistic Director (opens in new tab), says, "I love the evolution of the summer graphic eye.
To achieve this striking look, start by applying your favorite eye primer before blending in the vibrant pigments from the YSL Couture Clutch eyeshadow palette (open in new tab).
"Creating a fresh look (as if from the beach) with bronzer can infuse new life and vitality into a winter complexion," explains Kevin Aucoin's artistic and educational director, Nick Lujan (opens in new tab).
Incorporate bronzing products into your summer makeup routine for a dewy, glassy skin finish. Lujan explains, "Use Kevin Aucoin's Stripped Nude Skin Tint (opens in new tab) in a shade or two darker than your normal shade for a subtle tanned look." Skin Tint is great for a second skin effect, plus it contains antioxidants and blue light protectants," Lujan explains.
For extra shimmer and shine, blend a small amount of Glass Glow Face (opens in new tab) in the shade Spectrum Bronze into moisturizer or liquid foundation, or press onto clean skin. To finish, apply Neo Bronzer (opens in new tab) to the high points of the face for a flawless glow.
Brow trends come and go, but one thing is certain: it's important to frame the windows of your mind with beautiful brows. After months of wearing a mask, the eyebrows become the most important feature for conveying emotion. 'Tight or strong eyebrows can hinder communication and leave a lot to be translated. Hence, soft, feathery, natural-looking brows took center stage," says Lujan. 'Whether microbladed, laminated, or styled, the feathered brow is here to stay.'
Achieve this ethereal brow look with Kevyn Aucoin's True Feather Brow Marker Gel Duo (opens in new tab). This double-sided marker product makes it easy to precisely shape and fill in brows. One side of the marker has a synthetic fiber tip that makes it easy to accurately sketch individual hairs; the other end has a clear gel and brush for finishing the style and look.
ICYMI: Fresh, glowing skin is the ultimate accessory this summer. Celebrity makeup artist and global beauty director for Laura Mercier, Jason Hoffman (opens in new tab), predicts that glowing skin with a semi-matte finish will be all the rage this summer.

It provides ample coverage without being too greasy or heavy on the skin, plus optimal hydration.
Summer is the perfect time to experiment with bright colors. Celebrity makeup artist Shady Malek (open in new tab) predicts that neon shadows like lime green will be the hero look of the season. 'Summer 2021 is all about unique eye makeup. Whether it's an asymmetrical graphic liner, a pop of color, or dramatic lashes, it's all about saying wow with your eyes," says Malek.
Replicate this look by applying a pigmented shadow to the outer corner of the eye and extending the color to the crease of the eyelid. To make it even more dramatic, Malek recommends doubling the lashes. Add Ardell's Demi Whispy (opens in new tab) for voluminous lashes.
Don't be afraid to go all out with your look this summer. Celebrity makeup artist Hung Vanngo (opens in new tab) worked with Christian Louboutin Beauty to create Loubilook "Red Night," which explores the nuances of red." Color is life. Says Vanngo. 'It complements any beauty look. It makes sporty looks more playful, day looks more daring, and night looks more seductive."
