We cant stop binging-cant stop tweeting-about-it series.

The Academy Award winner seems to have done it again with 2021's "Nine Perfect Strangers," an adaptation of Liane Moriarty's book The show, which premieres on Hulu on August 18, 2021, boasts more than a dozen of the hottest actors of the moment and has already generated a lot of buzz around it. Below is everything we know about one of the biggest shows of the year.

Set in an intimate boutique resort, this limited-edition miniseries "promises to heal and transform" wellness has never been stranger. As the retreat drags on, the guests realize that the demons that led them to the heretical wellness guru Marcia may be being used against them, and that surrendering themselves freely to the (very blonde) hosts is not the best path to healing.

According to Hulu, the miniseries has no shortage of A-listers, led by Kidman as Russian wellness guru Masha Dmitrichenko, who is "on a mission to re-energize (guests') tired minds and bodies. "In an interview with Deadline (in new tab opens), Kidman revealed that she spent the entire five months filming the show in Australia in the role, even choosing not to identify herself in the process.

"It was the only way I could really engage with people. Because otherwise I felt like I was performing and I didn't want to feel that way," Kidman told the outlet.

"I wanted to exude a very calm, healing energy all the time, so I remember going up to people and putting my hand over their hearts and holding their hands."

Oscar nominee Melissa McCarthy, one of the show's executive producers, also stars as Frances Welty, one of the show's nine strangers. Other cast members include Bobby Canavale as Tony Hogburn, Manny Jacinto of "The Good Place" as Yao, Luke Evans as Lars, Regina Hall as Carmel, Grace Van Patten as Zoe, and Samara Weaving as Jessica. Tiffany Boone of "Little Fires Everywhere" (open in new tab) also stars as Delilah, one of the resort employees.

Jonathan Levine directed the entire series, which was co-written by David E. Kelley, John Henry Butterworth, and Samantha Strauss.

Indeed. The show is based on Liane Moriarty's book of the same name, which was released in November 2018 and became an instant bestseller - the Australian author's previous book, Big Little Lies (opens in new tab), was also a huge hit and the award-winning HBO show (which also features Nicole Kidman ), which brought Moriarty's name to worldwide recognition, which is not surprising. Moriarty is also the executive producer of "9 Perfect Strangers.

The book's synopsis (open in new tab) gives more insight into what to expect from the show, especially from Frances, played by Melissa McCarthy: "Frances Welty, once a best-selling romance novelist, has back pain, a broken heart, and exquisitely painful cuts, comes to Tranquillum House. She is immediately intrigued by her fellow guests. Most of them do not appear to be in need of a health resort at all. But what intrigues her most is the strange and charismatic owner and director of Tranquillum House. Does this person really have the answers Frances has been searching for? Should Francis put aside his doubts and immerse himself in all that Tranquillum House has to offer, or should he escape while he still can?" It wasn't long before every guest at Tranquillum House was asking the exact same question.

In a 2018 interview with The Guardian (opens in new tab), Moriarty explains what inspired the book." You will never see an article that says, 'Change this much about your life and you will be transformed forever'." Even though I know it won't work if I click on it, I find it irresistible."

In late July, Hulu released a three-minute clip introducing viewers to the sunny Tranquillum House and the sinister tale that lurks beneath. Is Masha stupid or is she real?" Francis, with a face full of acupuncture needles, asks the question before the camera zooms in on a grinning Masha.
