Anyway, Lopez accompanied Affleck to Italy, where he was staying to promote The Last Duel, a movie he co-wrote with Matt Damon. And last week, paparazzi photos showed the couple sightseeing, embracing, and generally being charming.

But excitement quickly swept over the couple as they were leaving the city from Venice's Marco Polo airport, and according to TMZ (opens in new tab), a fan who was trying to take a selfie pushed a little too aggressively toward the star, holding up his cell phone . As if defending Lopez, Affleck stepped forward and placed his hand on the stranger's shoulder, restraining him from getting any closer. He did not wait for his bodyguards, but sprang into action to protect J.Lo. (TMZ has photos of the incident here (opens in new tab)). Eventually, the couple's bodyguard backed the fan down and the two walked happily through the airport with their heads down.

The reason for Bennifer 1.0's first breakup in 2004 is not known, but many speculate that the constant media attention was too intense for the couple. One hopes that the same thing will not happen again and that fans will learn to fend for themselves.
