Jeremiah Brent shares his favorite art and design books in "Shelf Portrait"

It's no surprise that interior designers Jeremiah Brent and Nate Berkus have a stunning home library, and in Marie Claire's latest episode of "Shelf Portrait" (opens in new tab), celebrities, influencers and famous bookworms show off their personal libraries, and Brent gives us a tour of his and his husband's impressive book collection, housed on 30-foot shelves in their chic West Village townhouse.

In the video, Brent admits that narrowing down his favorite books is difficult. If he had to choose, he would start with James Brown's The James Brown Handbook (opens in new tab). Brent also likes Axel Felvort's The Story of Style (opens in new tab).

Brent also loves David Douglas Duncan's "Goodbye Picasso" (opens in new tab), a collection of correspondence with the painter, and Paulo Coelho's "The Alchemist" (opens in new tab). (Brent has read the book five times and says it helped him tackle his fear of coming out.) The interior designer also shares Peter Parnell and Justin Richardson's "And Tango Makes Three" (opens in new tab).

Watch Brent's full Shelf Portraits video above, then order your own copy of his favorite book (or, as Brent recommends, visit Three Lives in the West Village (opens in new tab)), premiering on HGTV on October 5. You can also see Brent in "The Nate & Jeremiah Home Project" (opens in new tab).
