When it comes to the relationship between modern art and beauty, La Prairie couldn't be more relevant. The Swiss luxury house's friendship with artist Niki de Saint Phalle (opens in new tab) helped shape the image of its coveted Skin Caviar line (opens in new tab), and in 2017, it partnered with the global art fair Art Basel and commission an original artwork each year. And now it has embarked on a further patronage initiative, partnering with Switzerland's most visited museum to preserve its most high-profile artwork, a work by Piet Mondrian.

The two-year collaboration between La Prairie and the iconic Beyeler Foundation will contribute to the preservation of four masterpieces by Piet Mondrian, a Dutch painter best known for the abstract, graphic oil paintings that characterized the De Stijl movement. produced between 1921 and 1938. The four Mondrian paintings are being researched and studied to help the world understand the artist's unique excellence. Through this new initiative, new details about Mondrian's creative process will be discovered and revealed in a major Mondrian exhibition to be held at the museum in 2022.

"Art is an important part of our lives. It bears witness to how people see and understand the world we live in. It is therefore essential to preserve works of art so that we can remember, learn, and honor those involved," said Markus Gross, head of conservation at the Fondation Beyeler. He added, "We are pleased that La Prairie is supporting this project and helping to raise awareness of the importance of art conservation." There is no doubt that La Prairie is passionate about all things beautiful and erudite, as is the Swiss brand and the Swiss people themselves.

"As a Swiss Maison, we are particularly proud to support one of the most prestigious cultural institutions in Switzerland. We share common values and the goal of bringing art from Switzerland to the world," said Greg Prodromides, Chief Marketing Officer of La Prairie. With this new initiative, La Prairie is expanding its cultural commitment and demonstrating its long-term commitment to the world of art and culture."
