Michelle Young's "Bachelorette" season (opens in new tab) - the second of two "Bachelorette" seasons in 2021 - opened in October 2021. Standing out among Michelle's male cast (opens in new tab) is immediate frontrunner Neyte. Stepping out of his limousine, the 27-year-old sales executive (full name: Tundé Nayte Olukoya) ended his sweet introduction with the catchphrase "It's better Nayte than never," giving Michelle a crush.

Nayte, described in her ABC bio (opens in new tab) as a "6'8" Adonis-weight guy," struck a chord with viewers from her introduction, where she cutely quipped about how beautiful Michelle was. He then saved the cocktail hour after Michelle had to send a contestant home, encouraging her and also being vulnerable about his parents' divorce. He ended up receiving a first impression rose and shared the first kiss of the season with Michelle.

The 27-year-old hails from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, and will graduate from Eastern Washington University in 2019 with a bachelor's degree in business administration and a minor in African studies.

According to his LinkedIn, which does not list a mug shot, Olukoya began working for Indeed in Austin, Texas, after graduation. He worked as a bartender and a sales representative for AT&T during his college years.

Olkoya is familiar with the life of a teacher. His mother is a teacher, and according to his LinkedIn profile, he previously volunteered as a teacher's aide in the Omaha Public Schools in Nebraska, where his mother was then living. In the Season 18 premiere, he talks about his connection to Michelle. And knowing that she was a teacher, I came to believe that she was at least the kind of person that I would want to have a conversation with, not just a superficial conversation, but the kind of conversation that I would want to have."

He also said, "I had a lot of questions about the nature of the work that she was doing.

Orkoya welcomed an English cocker spaniel puppy named Percy earlier this year and has already shared several adorable photos of the puppy on Instagram. Last May, a month after welcoming Percy, he introduced him on social media, quoting Drake's lyrics in the caption: "I wasn't hiding my kid from the world, I was hiding my kid from the world.

The 27-year-old likes a good nonfiction book and often posts photos of his current and recent reads on Instagram. Some of the books he has featured include White Fragility by Robin DiAngelo, Your Money or Your Life by Vicki Robin, and The Daily Stoic by Ryan Holiday.

His other hobbies include outdoor activities like hiking and paddleboarding, but per his ABC bio, he "can't dance to save his life."

According to his ABC bio, Olkoya is looking for a long-distance relationship as he nears 30. His ideal woman is described as "outgoing, spontaneous, and has enough spunk to keep up with him."

"He is looking for a connection filled with heat and someone who is as passionate about him as he is about her," the bio continues.

"Nayte is looking for a teammate for life and is convinced that Michelle may be the one he's been waiting for."

After Olcoya received his first impression rose, ABC revealed in its season teaser that the other Bachelorette contestants were not fans of the front-runner as the competition progressed. In one clip, a contestant can be heard saying "Nayte is a player." as he and Young kiss.

In another scene, Clayton Echard says, "I'm an actor and I'm on a reality show," to which Nayte says, "What are you talking about?"

to which Neyte replies, "I'm not an actor. Later in the teaser, Neyte breaks down in tears, and the other contestants break down in tears as well. The clip, however, did not hint at Michelle's reaction to all the drama.
