Margot Robbie charms Paris in all-white Chanel
As the elite of the fashion world converged on Paris this week to see the Spring 2022 couture collections, it was clear that street style in 2022 is off to a strong start. But Margot Robbie topped my personal best-dressed list with the most vibrant all-white Chanel look I've seen in a long time. She was dressed head to toe in all white. Seriously, I am stressed.
Robbie, a longtime ambassador for the iconic French design house, defied the chilly January weather by layering an oversized white pea coat over a shimmery champagne pink tweed patchwork mini dress. She simply opted for white patent leather ankle boots and a coordinating white Chanel mini box bag (opens in new tab) designed to carry her AirPods.
Robbie was not the only fashionable A-list attendee at the show. The Oscar-nominated actress was joined in the front row of the presentation by filmmaker and longtime Chanel muse Sofia Coppola, singer and mother of Chanel model Lily-Rose Depp, Vanessa Paradis, and mega-producer Pharrell. While many of the other attendees opted for a casual look, pairing one of the brand's colorful tweed pieces with lived-in, wide-leg jeans, Robbie took a more tailored approach to the classic fabric.
While an all-white look in the middle of winter seems bold, "Once Upon a Time... In Hollywood" is not at all out of the ordinary for the star. After years of working with celebrity stylist Kate Young to create the perfect red carpet and street style looks, Robbie has never hesitated to wear an all-white look in the past. Young styled the actress in an all-white wraparound jumpsuit at the premiere of "Suicide Squad" in August. Young was also the mastermind behind Robbie's stunning silver Chanel gown at the 2021 Academy Awards. If this latest look is any indication, the duo will not slow down in 2022.
Young has recently become known for her ability to put together a series of highly edited monochrome looks for other celebrities, including Dakota Johnson, Selena Gomez, and Rebecca Ferguson.
