Kristen Stewart and Dylan Meyer to Wear Matching Suits at the 2022 Academy Awards
Kristen Stewart, nominated for her role as the late Princess Diana in "Spencer" (2021), attended tonight's Academy Awards in a Chanel ensemble that defied pantsuit traditionalism. The silky, irreverent attire was in keeping with Stewart's signature cool-girl attitude, which her fiancé and screenwriter Dylan Meyer (best known for his work on 2016's XOXO and 2021's Moxie, both available on Netflix) showcased, as well as matched flared pantsuits. They both wore all-black suits with open white button-down shirts.
Stewart's look was, of course, custom-fitted by Chanel, a fashion brand she has been friends with since becoming one of its celebrity ambassadors in 2013. We love Stewart's consistent authenticity: her choice to wear shorts to tonight's ceremony builds on her commitment to her history of wearing Vans during press tours and loose pantsuits before being cool. It also aligns with Chanel's history of always pushing the boundaries of women's fashion by embracing traditionally masculine silhouettes and turning practical items like suits, berets, and now shorts into high fashion.
I don't know about you, but I'm already considering incorporating shorts suits into my personal wardrobe this spring.
