Megan Thee Stallion may be known for her catchy rap lyrics and brazen confidence, but nothing prepared her for her stunning smokey eyes at the 2022 Grammy Awards. Nominated for Best Rap Performance for her hit "Thot Sh*t," the Houston native mesmerized the crowd with a dramatic ombre eye lined with black liner that closed the entire red carpet.

"For Meghan's Grammy red carpet look, we were inspired by graphic shapes and tropical temperatures," says celebrity makeup artist Lauren Child. 'To complement her animal print dress, we focused on her ultra black and dramatic cat eye. We used lighter shades on the eyelids and browns in the crease to softly shape the background of her graphic liner. Golden bronze highlights were layered high on the face and body to highlight her dreamy skin and complete this bold but lush look"

To create the look, Child covered the 27-year-old rapper's eyes with nude color in the So Fierce!Prism Palette ($12) Tantrum. Next, he lined Megan's eyes with Midnight Mystery in So Fierce! Vinyl Eyeliner ($10) in Midnight Mystery and, for added drama and dimension, with Brackest Black in Colorstay Sharpline Liquid Eye Pen ($10), created a higher wing. To finish, Child created bushy lashes with Brackest Black in So Fierce! Big Bad Lash Mascara ($10).

This smoky eye definitely lives up to her standards of being fierce, over-the-top, and a leading lady.
