Olivia Rodrigo's Grammy makeup was the perfect 90s meets Gen Z look

Olivia Rodrigo Three-time Grammy winner, purveyor of flawless angsty music, Disney star, style icon and beauty queen.

Since bursting onto the music scene with her talent for "Driver's License" and the album "Sour," Rodrigo has delivered as many hits as she has gorgeous looks on the red carpet.

When Rodrigo stepped onto the Grammy stage on Sunday night, she wore a punkish Vivienne Westwood gown and a '90s-style choker, and received a standing ovation, but that's not all.

She also rocked beautiful makeup and a wavy hairstyle.

First up was a 90s makeup vibe by makeup artist Lily Keys. Says Keys, "The inspiration for this look was the 90s supermodel, modern punk glam." For this, we looked for dusty rose-tinted lips, dramatic, sharp liner, and glowing skin."

Keys used Glossier's products to meet '90s Gen-Z cool-girl.

"I started by preparing my skin with Perfecting Skin Tint (opens in new tab) and Stretch Concealer (opens in new tab). I then mixed Cloud Paint (opens in new tab) in two colors, Beam and Storm, and blended it very lightly on the apples of my cheeks in small circles with a fluffy brush. Then I took Solar Paint (opens in new tab) on a cream bronzer brush and blended it along the cheekbones and bridge of the nose, and a tiny bit on the chin to balance the face.

"For highlighter, I'm crazy about Futuredew (opens in new tab), which doubles as a dewy glow moisturizer. To finish, I applied Quartz Haloscope along the tops of my cheekbones, the tip of my nose, and the top of my cupid's bow for a glowing complexion.

"For the lavender lids, I started with the Mist matte shadow from the Monochrome (open in new tab) palette, concentrating the color at the outer corners of the upper lids and blending it outward.

"Next, I used the two shimmery shadows in the palette and blended them into the center of the lids.

"Then I picked up the Pro-Tip Liner (opens in new tab) and using short strokes at the upper lash line, I sharply pointed the liner straight across and slightly upward, fluttering it into a dramatic but sharp cat-flick.

"Draw the liquid liner in small, sharp strokes at the corners of the eyes. Lash Slick (open in new tab) was used to coat the lashes upward, creating a feathery, fluffy lash vibe on both the upper and lower lashes to finish the eye look.

"For the eyebrows, I coated the brows upward with brown 'Boy Brow' (open in new tab) and filled in the gaps with 'Brow Flick' (open in new tab)."

"For the lips, I used Villa's Ultra Lip (opens in new tab), blended the lipstick into the lips, tapped my finger just above the upper lip line for freshly kissed lips, and finished with CookieButter's Balm.com (opens in new tab) for gorgeous smelling Lips.

Hairstylist Clayton Hawkins showed us how to recreate Rodrigo's beautiful long waves. He said, "For Olivia Rodrigo's Grammy look, we decided on shiny, cascading waves to complement her edgy dress and bold cat eye makeup angle."

Here's how to DIY:

"I started spraying Olivia's damp hair with Dove Hair Therapy 7-in-1 Miracle Mist (opens in new tab) (my fave pre-blow dry spray).

"Then I used the Tangle Teezer Ultimate Detangler (opens in new tab) brush to untangle Olivia's damp hair.

"I then blow-dried her hair until it was completely dry and set it with a total of five Velcro rollers, one in the Mohawk area and two on each side, to create lasting volume.

"Next, she parted her hair in the center and used a small section to create 1. A 25-inch curling iron was used to create flowing curls in her long hair.

"Once curls were done, I sprayed a generous amount of Dove's Extra Hold Hairspray (opens in new tab) into the curls to hold the shape in place while she finished getting glammed up."

"Then, as Olivia was about to head to the carpet, I used Tangle Teezer the Ultimate Styler (opens in new tab) to brush her curls for shiny, gorgeous waves.

"Then I applied a generous amount of Dove Hair Therapy Brilliant Gloss & Repair Serum (opens in new tab) from the middle to the ends for the ultimate shine. The result is a gorgeous, lustrous sheen that catches the light on the carpet."
