Worth it: Revive's Moisturizing Renewal Day Cream
Welcome to Worth It! Every other week, we'll introduce you to a new product that we've tested and loved: we're talking draining to the bottom and telling your friends that I've found something like "The-One". Think of it as permission to splurge on any of the products featured here. You won't want to give them up.
If RéVive isn't on your radar yet, it's about time it was. Here's a little background: the brand was founded in 1997 by Dr. Gregory Brown (opens in new tab). Dr. Gregory Brown is the genius behind the patented use of epidermal growth factor in skin care. Originally, this regenerative molecule, known colloquially as EGF, was used to treat burn patients. However, Dr. Brown discovered that it could be used in topical cosmetics as an ultra-potent anti-aging ingredient.
After launching dozens of cult-favorite lotions, potions, and serums, the brand launched Moisturizing Renewal Day Cream earlier this year as a daytime counterpart to its OG product, Moisturizing Renewal Cream (opens in new tab). The newly launched cream is available in 195ml. The newly launched cream costs $195, is suitable for all skin types, contains SPF 30, and includes the brand's proprietary BioRenewal technology. Dr. Brown explains that the latter is responsible for "visibly transforming and renewing the skin" as well as "returning it to a younger, healthier, and more supple state."
However, it goes beyond the basic needs of a moisturizer. Rich in antioxidants and good-for-you vitamins like C, E, and B5, this lotion promises brighter skin, a youthful glow, and accelerated cell turnover. Sounds good, but does this moisturizer actually work?
I have been a RéVive enthusiast ever since I came across their Foaming Cleanser (opens in new tab). Since then, I have tried almost every product the line offers, and while most of the EGF-infused products are good, some make my skin glow like a disco ball. I am happy to report that the Moisturizing Renewal Day Cream falls into the latter category.
Long story short, it's magic in a bottle. Like clockwork, I cracked open a sample of the gorgeous green tub in the hopes that it would restore my glow that would disappear over the winter months. At the beginning of this journey, I felt all kinds of dullness and had all kinds of dry faces.
Upon first use, I was thrilled with the texture. It was silky smooth and sunk into my skin like a dream, yet had enough weight and density to feel like a true moisturizer, as opposed to a water cream that simply wouldn't cut it for my dry skin. I thought it was wonderful, indeed. But the jury was still out. Would it cure all my dry patches? And most importantly, would it earn me the title of "Holy Grail?"
After using this cream every morning for the past six weeks, I can say with complete confidence that it has delivered everything it promised. Not only has my skin been hydrated, healthy, and as soft as a baby's bottom since incorporating it into my routine, but the soothing formula has kept my reactive, rosacea-prone skin happy and hydrated.
As for the glow, mission accomplished. The product's Rapid Renewal Complex and antioxidant-rich formula, which mimics the effects of retinoic acid, has left my complexion bright, plump, and bouncy. While I have yet to see much in the way of wrinkle reduction, my skin has definitely tightened up with continued use.
If my giant love letter to RéVive's Moisturizing Renewal Day Cream hasn't yet convinced you to add this godsend to your cart, allow me to drive the point home: this product is worth every penny.
