Who is Micah McDonald in Season 5 of "Selling the Sunset"?

One of the best parts of reality TV is the romantic storylines. Watching couples tie the knot for the first time or celebrate their love in a grand ceremony is a thrill. One notable couple in Season 5 of "Selling the Sunset" was Krischelle Stause and Jason Oppenheim, but even though we knew how it ended, there was also a very sweet connection between Emma Hernan and real estate developer Micah McDonald.

McDonald, who appeared on the show as a client of Hernan's who was building an eight-figure mega-mansion, immediately won Emma's (and our) hearts with his determination to work and dedication to his family; we'll have to wait for later seasons to see how their relationship turns out, but luckily, McDonald has the Internet to learn more about himself.

McDonald is an entrepreneur and will appear in Season 5 of "Sunset" to show Hernan his latest property in progress. Throughout the show, McDonald posted photos of the completed mansion on his Instagram earlier this month. 'The vision for this house began in 2016! Over five years later, the vision has become a reality! It's turned out even better than I expected!" He added the caption.

In addition to real estate development projects, he also owns a mezcal bar (open with new tab) in LA's Atwater Village neighborhood, where he took Hernan on a tasting date. Since the filming, Sagrado Mezcaleria + Kitchen has opened and has "Emma's Empanadas" on the menu.

The restaurant's website (opens in new tab) also explains its connection to the Oaxaca region of Mexico, with menu items inspired by the region. McDonald's also explained on the program that it works with family-owned businesses that have been making spirits for generations.

In a conversation with Hernan on the show, McDonald said he is the third of eight siblings and that his family is all super close. He also said that his family seems to be super important to him and that he has a place for them in LA, telling Hernan that he always comes to see them. He also said on the show that "all my stuff belongs to them."

McDonald's Instagram is modest compared to other Selling Sunset regulars, with the first post dated 2020. Most of his posts are courtside photos of Houston Rockets games, travel photos combined with diary-like captions, and workout updates. He and Hernan also surprisingly do not follow each other.

Hernan told "Entertainment Tonight" (opens in new tab) that she and McDonald have gotten to know each other more since season 5 was filmed." "Me and Micah definitely have something special," she said, "and we definitely still enjoy each other's company."

She added, "We've been having a lot of fun together.

She added that they are taking things slowly, not making their relationship clear, since neither of them live in LA full-time. McDonald lives primarily in Texas, while Hernan divides his time between LA and Boston.

"I've been in a distance relationship for a long time, so it would be nice to at least have a relationship where we're in the same state," she said. Obviously, we've made some progress [since the end of season 5]." We've gotten closer. But we're just about there. So we'll see. In Season 6, there may be labels and rings. Who knows?
