Explaining the Conclusion of "Selling the Sunset" Season 5

"Selling Sunset" Season 5 spoilers ahead. Krishelle Stauss and Jason Oppenheim's eventual breakup was the unexpected romance that opened the season, but "Selling the Sunset" fans knew the breakup was coming before season 5 began. In the Season 5 finale, Stauss tearfully told Emma Hernan, "I don't know what to do. 'I made it very clear to him what this was all about. We broke up. We broke up."

Stauss and Jason's romance was not the only storyline that ended for a moment in the final episode of season 5. Vanessa Villella's boyfriend, Nick, was seen giving her a promise ring. Villella tells Davina Potratz that she is considering moving to London to be with him. The Broker throws a champagne goodbye party for Maya Vander, who has said (open in new tab) that she will not return to "Selling Sunset" as a full-time cast member. Jason Fitzgerald and Mary Fitzgerald are cornered by Christine Quinn, and Quinn's future with the Oppenheim Group is in jeopardy. Meanwhile, Micah McDonald and Hernan have a very steamy hot tub date, and Heather Rae El Moussa and Tarek El Moussa have a lavish wedding in Montecito. (And Heather Rae El Moussa has a gorgeous wedding in Montecito with Tarek El Moussa.) Now let's dig in.

Toward the end of the season, Hernan claims to Fitzgerald and Jason that Quinn tried to pay his client $5,000 to not work with Hernan. (Quinn has tweeted about the show's "5,000 fake storylines," implying that he denies the claim.) ) "Jason," he tells Hernan, "is a very good friend of mine. 'She's crossing a line in my mind.'

After Hernan leaves, Fitzgerald and Jason wait for Quinn, but he does not show up. Fitzgerald says, "I don't know why Emma is trying to make me look bad again." This whole game of trying to discredit me over and over again is getting really old... I don't think I need to have a conversation with them."

The season ends with Quinn's future in the O Group in jeopardy. Since the show finished filming, Quinn has hinted that she has left O Group, but her bio is still publicly available on the brokerage's website.

Villella and Vander hinted in the last episode that they may not return for "Sunset" Season 6. Villella, as mentioned, is considering the possibility of moving to London, while Vander has told Jason that he wants to spend more time with his family in Miami. A sixth season has not yet been confirmed, but Us Weekly says it has been given the go-ahead, but who knows if Villella, Vander, and Quinn will return for the next season.

Like I said, the breakup wasn't exactly a surprise-the former couple announced their breakup in December, and it was equally heartbreaking. In the final episode of season 5, Jason reiterated that he "spends a lot of time thinking" about whether he wants to be a father. 'I feel the same pressure she does,' he said. 'I think about it every day. ...... Frankly, the thought of becoming a father is daunting. I'm scared that if it's my decision, I'm going to lose Krischelle."

The next scene is with Hernan at Stause's house. 'Stause says. 'That's what makes it hard. [I know the code of life, I'm so happy, I'm with someone who respects me, and we're going to have a baby. It's everything I dreamed of."

Hernan tells her. 'Just not now. This is just the universe trying to put you on a different path."

"I don't know if [he and I] can keep working together," Stause tells her. 'I'm just being honest about it.'

The "Selling Sunset" reunion will air on Netflix on May 6.
