Just two days after attending the White House Correspondents' Dinner with boyfriend Pete Davidson, Kim Kardashian appeared at the Met Gala as Marilyn Monroe. With her hair once again ice blonde and slicked back, and wearing the original dress that Marilyn Monroe herself wore when she sang "Happy Birthday, Mr. President" to JFK, Kim literally had golden glamour.

Kim told Vogue: "The idea came to me after the gala last September. If it wasn't for the Balenciaga look, what would I have done for the American theme? The most American thing would be Marilyn Monroe. Nowadays everyone wears transparent dresses, but back then it was not the case. In a way, she was the originator of the naked dress. So it was very shocking.

The dress was not owned by Kardashian herself, but by the Ripley's Believe It or Not Museum, which loaned it to her. I'm a big fan of auctions and I own several JFK pieces, so I know Julian's owner. He connected me with [Ripley's] and that's how the conversation started," she told Vogue magazine.
