Gwen Stefani to do make-up at the Met Gala
While most of the celebrities who stepped onto the red carpet at the Met Gala were accompanied by a glamorous squad, Gwen Stefani did her makeup alone. Frankly, the Voice judges are true professionals.
To create an edgy look that complemented her neon green Vera Wong custom gown, Stefani enlisted the help of her eponymous beauty brand, GXVE (pronounced "Gib"). A metallic blue cat eye with Line It Up 24-hour Waterproof Gel Liner Bathwater (opens in new tab) was the star of the show. While the "Sweet Escape" singer's eye makeup was a standout, it was her nude lips that excited us the most.
According to a press release shared with Marie Claire, the color in question is a mixture of two undisclosed nude lipstick shades from her line. The release is still undecided, but we've been informed that it will officially launch on June 7 at Sephora.com, so mark your calendars.
For the rest of Stephanie's look 'she prepped her skin with an all-time prime (opens in new tab), hydrating and glossy face oil packed with soothing aloe vera and meadow sea foam seed oil that provides soothing properties. She kept blush, highlighter, and bronzer soft and lightly filled in her brows with the shade 2 Hera on Point Ultra Fine Eyebrow Pencil (open in new tab).
Stephanie launched her makeup line in March after years of development." I think [everything] I've done in my whole life has led me to this point," she told Marie Claire at the time." Everything that comes from this place of creativity led me [to creating a makeup line]."
She added that "I've been working on this for a long time, and I've been doing it for a long time.
The brand has plans to expand, but the current lineup includes eyeliners, brow pencils, eyeshadows, and most notably, lipsticks. She previously told Marie Claire, "Matte lipstick is my original recipe, and I love how it beats all the (matte lipsticks) I've loved in the past." I was trying to create something that was comfortable to wear for a long time."
"I wanted to create a lipstick that was comfortable to wear for a long time.
