Drew Barrymore's latest outfit actually said there's nothing wrong with spring florals.
Long gone are the days of being dictated to by Miranda Priestly types as to what to wear or not to wear. [Drew Barrymore would probably be the first to tell you that spring florals may not be groundbreaking, but they are absolutely lovely and you should wear them if you want to.
The actress and now talk show host recently showed off a radiant, summery outfit at Variety's Power of Women event in New York City.
Barrymore wore a green and pink floral silk maxi dress by Giambattista Valli for the occasion. The dress is still available (size 10 only) at Saks Fifth Avenue (open in new tab), but there is a small problem: it costs $5,000...
This gown is just a fun piece, with its floating sleeves and overall floaty silhouette.
Star paired it with a metallic statement watch, drop earrings, a bubblegum pink clutch bag, and shocking pink pointed pumps. She wore her hair half up, half down and, as far as I could tell, had a big smile on her face all night.)
In her speech at the event, Barrymore praised the work of her chosen charity. She said, "When I look at José Andrés, I'm drawn to World Central Kitchen because he says, 'I'm not going to be a part of this, I'm not going to be a part of this.' It's because he says. 'And I love those scrappy people! I've always been one of those scrappy people."
[12She also said she had a strong fear that the Roe v. Wade case would be overturned, but that her daughter Olive helped her. She said, "For the last 24 hours, for the last two years, maybe since time immemorial, we have lived in a fight or flight state. [And yesterday I couldn't stop crying over everything and the state of the world. And today, my daughter came in and said: ...... 'Mom, I have a mission. She said, 'I'm going to campaign to lower the voting age to 16.' And she talked about women's rights and I just sat there with my jaw open, just relieved and so happy that she is the kind of person she is."
