Remember when everyone was all up in arms about the side-part or middle-part debate, and Gen Z was telling millennials that they couldn't do side-parts anymore, unless they wanted to be totally uncool?

Well, while I'm all for the younger generation giving us older generations our place (they are the future, after all), Miley Cyrus is here to tell us that beauty has no rules. Any hairstyle can be cool - including a side part.

During her South American tour, she rocked a mid-part bleach blonde with a curtain of long bangs.

But in recent weeks, she's been growing out her bangs and enjoying the side-parted hairstyle. And I must say: and she looks totally fabulous.

In a recent Instagram post, Cyrus shared a photo of herself in bed wearing a tank top that says "Hell Yeah I'm Miley Cyrus" and drinking herbal tea (rock star move).

The words refer to Selena Gomez's recent Saturday Night Live monologue. In that speech, Gomez imitated her friend from her Disney Channel days, saying in Cyrus' signature low voice and subtle Tennessee twang, "Be yourself, have fun." Gomez then said, "It's Miley Cyrus," in her Miley Cyrus voice.

Cyrus was spotted several times while in New York with a new hairstyle, huge sunglasses and a belt that sat low on her waist, giving her a huge early decade Paris Hilton vibe. Frankly, I live for it.
