Who is Eduardo Franco in Stranger Things?

The first volume of "Stranger Things" Season 4 was committed to two things: introducing an iconic science fiction villain and incorporating more '80s pop culture. While the Hawkins kids work at a video store and read about "The Devil's Panic," Eleven and the Byers family make new friends and enemies in sunny Lenora Hills, California. Jonathan's new friend Argyle, played by Arizona native Eduardo Franco, is stoner culture personified in a sweet package.

Franco is a familiar face to fans of teen shows, and his trademark super-long hair has been featured in several cult-favorite movies and popular Netflix series. Here is what we know about this rising star.

The 27-year-old is best known for his role as Theo in the teen comedy Booksmart and has appeared in the Netflix stoner comedy The Package. His first television appearance was a recurring role on the Disney XD series Gamer's Guide to Pretty Much Everything; he also appeared in Netflix's American Vandal and TruTV's Adam Ruins Everything.

Franco grew up traveling across the US-Mexico border to visit relatives, including his aunt, who was a hairdresser. He told Remezcla (open in new tab) that he enjoyed the visits but found it difficult to return to the United States. As a teenager, it bothered him so much that he stopped getting haircuts.

"It's very tedious. Going to Mexico is great. The food is great, you get to hang out with your cousins. Getting into Mexico is easy. But coming back to the States? It's a fucking hassle. I don't know what's wrong with customs in the U.S. Sometimes you have to wait in line for an hour or two," he said.

Franco has had a history of being so charming that casting directors found a slot for him. His role in "Book Smart," a reclusive senior who often flirts with his teacher, was created specifically for him; Remezcla said that after he auditioned for another role, director Olivia Wilde and the casting directors brought him back and created a new They created a character for him.

Something similar happened on the journey to "Stranger Things," and in an interview on the red carpet at the MTV Movie & TV Awards, Franco recalled the audition process. I read for Eddie," he told Insider (opens in new tab). 'I'm so glad I got Joseph Quinn. He's great. He's very nice. They made a great decision. I support it 100 percent."

He added: "I'm very happy with the decision.

Franco also spoke to Remezcla about his family, who have supported his career from the beginning. He said, "My parents are happy for me. They are proud of me. I can't believe how many things have happened in my life. I'm just working towards a better future, that's all. That's it. I'm trying to get to a point in my life where I can sit back and say, 'Wow, I made all this! I'm trying to get to a point in my life where I can sit back and say, 'Wow, I made all this. I'm not there yet. But I'm working towards it.

Along with acting, Franco is part of a two-piece group called Dumb Bitches With Internet (open in new tab), which just released a three-song album called The Most Album Ever. In a video shared on Instagram (opens in new tab), he and groupmate Noetic Nixon perform a sidewalk rap.

On other Instagrams, Franco typically posts pop culture content, from toys and graphic T-shirts to movie-inspired selfie poses. He even dresses up as Batman for Halloween, living his geek life at its very best.
