8 Beauty Looks at Royal Ascot

The British Royal Family traveled to the annual Royal Ascot earlier this week, a five-day event that offers horse racing, celebrity sightings, and, if I do say so myself, some great beauty inspiration. Although Duchess Kate was absent this time, Princess Beatrice, Countess Sophie of Wessex, and Princess Diana's nieces were there to represent the British royal family. There were no overly exaggerated beauties, but there were plenty of subtle inspirations that deserve a closer look.

Their make-up was summery. Sophie, Countess of Wessex, had gorgeous, sun-kissed skin, Princess Beatrice brightened her eyes with shimmery eyeshadow, and Eliza Spencer hopped on the glossy lip trend. Hairstyles were in vogue, with center parts, layers framing the face, and ponytails with slicked-back hair.

Lipliner is all the rage, and Cross proved on Day 3 of the celebration just how powerful a little over-lining can be. To get her look, pull just a little above the cupid's bow and around the upper lip. The lower lip should be overlined in the center. The rest of the liner should be placed directly on the lips.

It's easy to miss if you blink, but Princess Beatrice popped a taupe shimmer on the corners of her eyes. This sparkle adds a little something extra to her natural charm. While small accents are best for daytime events, adding glitter all over the eyelid can take this makeup from day to night.

Tyndall's makeup is always soft, and she didn't break with that style on the first day of Royal Ascot. She did not use eye shadow, her complexion was matte, and her lips were petal pink. She did, however, smudge a bit of black shadow on her lower lash line. She simply picked up her favorite color and swiped it on with a detail brush.

Princess Diana's niece is always gorgeous, but her look at Royal Ascot may be one of our favorites. Not only did her skin look radiant, but the layers framing her face made her ponytail very on-trend. If you have curtain bangs or chin-length layers, recreating this look should be at the top of your list.

There is a lot to unpack about this makeup look. First and foremost, I applaud the gorgeous royal highlights. Now, let's talk about the lip color. She used a nude pink satin shade and layered a clear gloss over it. If you're not sure how to recreate this look, check out our guide to the best lip plumper.

If you want to look like you just got off the beach while avoiding the sun, take a cue from Sophie, Countess of Wessex. For her Royal Ascot, she layered bronzer, chose a copper shade, and added a little pink blush to her cheeks.

The British TV presenter leaned into her rosy undertones on the second day of Royal Ascot. Not only did she wear a pink dress and fascinator, but she also used pink lips, pink shadow, and pink blush.

A slicked-back bun or ponytail is a classic summer hairstyle. They achieve a "clean girl" aesthetic and look put together without the use of hot tools. To recreate Jama's look, use a boar bristle brush and gel to create a sleek start. Then, pull the remaining hair into a low pony or a curly bun.
