Camila Cabello fully committed to Y2K aesthetic
The early 2000s were a heyday for the beauty world. Frosted eyeshadows were in, overlined lips were a must, and bangs parted in two were cool. And now these trends are back, but with a modern twist. Of course, Camila Cabello is following the trend. The Cinderella star shared a Y2K-inspired look on Instagram on Thursday, June 30.
Her outfit was a complete throwback, from the brown crop top and underbust shtick to the paper bag-like jeans. The beauty was undeniably an ode to the past few years. Hairstylist Dimitris Giannetos gave the "Bam Bam" singer not one, not two, but three 2000s hair trends. He created pigtails, baby braids, and face-framing tendrils. Really, really, it doesn't get any better than that.
Patrick Ta took over the glamour and did not disappoint. He kept Cabello's glamour on the matte side, opting for soft brown eyeshadow, a classic cat eye, and overlined peachy pink lips.
The star's "relationship" between fashion and beauty has changed dramatically over the years; in an interview with Vogue magazine in April 2022, she said: "I'm more confident, I'm more playful, and I use makeup as a creative and artistic expression I think using makeup as another way to express myself creatively and artistically has changed my relationship with makeup. While she goes all out when working with professionals (as evidenced by her look for the 2022 Met Gala), she opts for simplicity when applying glamorous makeup herself.
"For me, casual makeup is all about what I can't [mess up]. It's about regaining that childlike joy, happiness, and expression again."
