Prince Harry's shocking memoir appears to have been postponed
Ever since Prince Harry announced that he will publish his memoirs in 2022, the royal family has reportedly been nervous, to say the least. This is because Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were interviewed by Oprah and opened up about their treatment by other members of the royal family. Speculation was rife that the memoir, in particular, would be highly critical of his attitude toward Prince Charles and Princess Meghan.
Now, with the announcement of the book in the fall and Harry's memoir nowhere to be found, nervous royals can now breathe a sigh of relief. According to the Daily Mail, if the book is indeed published in 2022 as intended, this omission would almost certainly not have happened. In fact, if the book had gone ahead as originally planned, the magazine says, publicity for the book would have already begun in the summer. Thus, the fact that there has been no announcement at all means that the publication date is next year (or later). [Of course, this is still speculation. However, the lack of an announcement has led some people close to the royal family to wonder what is going on.
One source told The Sun, "If the book is to be released this year as originally planned, it should be on the publisher's marketing and promotion list.
And there was also speculation earlier this year that Harry might delay the memoir from 2022 so as not to be disrespectful to the Queen during her platinum jubilee. Furthermore, if rumors are true that Harry may be planning a gradual return to royal life, the retrospective may be an unnecessary distraction from his future plans.
And if the rumors are true: ...... Well, let's not get our hopes up for this book.
