Lily James spent most of last year as a blonde. But her transformation into Pamela Anderson in Hulu's "Pam & Tommy" may have inspired her latest hair makeover: the 33-year-old actress ditched the dark brown for a buttery blonde that is very Pamela Anderson. And she also got bangs. Lucky for us, she documented the whole renewal on Instagram Stories.

On Wednesday, July 27, James visited John McPherson, a hair colorist who has also worked with stars like Vanessa Kirby and Billie Piper. In just one visit, McPherson pulled James' color up to an insane level. Going from such a deep brunette to a light blonde usually requires multiple treatments to maintain the health of the hair. But he somehow pulled off a "hair miracle," James says. To do so, McPherson used Schwarzkopf Professional Hair Color, Redken Shade EQ Hair Gloss, and K18 Conditioning Treatment.

James' latest transformation is not the only look of hers that has made headlines in recent weeks: on July 12, the actress went gothic for a Versace campaign. Her hair (which was actually a wig) was a jet-black shade, finished off with blunt micro bangs. Makeup followed suit. Not only did she rock a vampy lip for the shoot, but she also bleached her eyebrows. It didn't take long for celebs to comment on James' dramatic look, with Ted Lasso's Hannah Waddingham saying, "Jeeeeeeezuz! Your transformation is jaw dropping, incredible, beautiful chameleon crazy," and Lily Collins saying, "Jesus girl ！！！！！！"
